The manufacturer from Le Brassus was the first in the watch industry to decide to help customers who fell victim to thieves. The service also covers mechanical and physical damage to watches, but under certain conditions.
The problem of the theft of luxury watches still worries many collectors at night. Social media constantly reports new thefts, even more daring and often more brutal than the previous ones. Some of the largest cities in Europe and America, such as London, Paris, Los Angeles and even Geneva, have become meccas for thieves who seem to be well versed in the subject and are especially keen on a certain group of prestigious brands that are easy to recognize on the wrist. The simplest solution, of course, would be not to wear luxury watches and not to provoke fate, but… let’s face it, this is no solution. So far, watch manufacturers have seemed completely deaf to the growing problem. Until now.
Fake Audemars Piguet has introduced something called “AP Coverage Service” to its offer. Broadly speaking, it is a service that guarantees – under certain conditions – insurance of the watch against theft and partial or total damage. There are several conditions that must be met to benefit from insurance. Firstly, the watch must come from an authorized AP showroom or AP House and be purchased no earlier than 2022. Secondly, the owner must register his AP model in the program and, of course, do this before any problems arise. Using the program is completely free.
Audemars Piguet also reserves the full right to accept or reject the request, based on the analysis of the watch (or report of theft) delivered to the factory. “AP Coverage Service” covers a period of two years from the date of original purchase, but may be extended by the brand after any use. In the event of theft, the decision may mean a new copy of the watch or a financial equivalent. When reporting a claim (theft/assault), the owner must waive the right to the watch. If this one was found by the police, it would be obtained by AP.
