In the Calatrava prepared for 2024, Fake Patek Philippe used the Travel Time function, thanks to which we can read two times on the dial – local and home. Both are displayed in 24-hour mode.
During the recently concluded Watches&Wonders fair, the flagship novelty at the Patek Philippe stand was the Calatrava ref. 5224R. The classic-looking watch has a 42 mm 18-carat pink gold case with a navy blue dial. And although its design is not entirely to my taste, it must be admitted that the whole thing was finished with exceptional care and attention to detail. Walking from the outside, we come across a railtrack scale with small, luminous-filled balls placed on it every 5 minutes. The next part, decorated with brushing, includes applied indices (in odd places) and Arabic numerals (in even places). There are 24 of them in total, and Patek Philippe decided to use the number 12 in the upper part of the dial (generally, in watches with a 24-hour time display, the number 24 appears in this place) – which means that the hour hand will cross this place at noon.
Calatrava A.D. The 2024 is – looking at the shape – a classic watch, although the mentioned size (42 mm) will certainly make it unsuitable for many smaller wrists. The case is polished, 9.85 mm thick, water resistant to 30 m and graduated, profiled lugs. Inside there is a mechanism based on the ultra-thin caliber 31-260 with an added Travel Time function and a 24-hour time display. The resulting movement – marked 31-260 PS FUAS 24H – is clocked at 4Hz and has a 48-hour power reserve. To reduce its thickness, Patek used a platinum microrotor, and the highest quality of finish is confirmed by the PP seal.
Interestingly, thanks to the use of new technical solutions (patented), the Swiss were able to dispense with correctors that helped set the time correctly. Now we will make everything from lace. After pulling it back to the middle position, you can adjust the local time in hourly steps forward or backward. In the edge position, we change the home and local time (rotate all hands). The idea will certainly be appreciated by people who often travel and cross different time zones.
Patek Philippe Calatrava 24-Hour Travel Time ref. 5224R will be delivered to its future owners on a navy blue calfskin strap with a nubuck texture, finished with a gold buckle.
