Omega replica watches unveiled a little new product last night which is none other than the Omega Speedmaster Super Racing. This new watch is not only a new Speedmaster, it is a mechanical feat that pushes the limits in terms of precision since it is equipped with the Spirate system.
This new Speedmaster Super Racing is a direct homage to the iconic Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra “Bumblebee” presented exactly 10 years ago.
The watch has a stainless steel case measuring 44.25mm in diameter, a beautiful piece, as you can see. The design and overall shape of the case obviously retain the DNA of the Speedmaster collection. The black ceramic bezel features a beautiful yellow enamel tachymeter scale.
On the dial side, the black “sandwich” dial is decorated with a subtle honeycomb pattern. There is a checkered timer which reinforces the racing look of the watch. A small seconds counter with a yellow and black striped hand is located at 9 o’clock and there is a GMT subdial with a second time zone at 3 o’clock. The date window at 6 o’clock indicates the 10th of each month in typical Speedmaster typography.
The watch comes with a steel bracelet but also with a black and yellow Nato bracelet which emphasizes the automobile style of the watch. Concerning waterproofing, this little news is waterproof to 50 meters (5ATM).
The sapphire caseback of the watch offers a breathtaking view of the new Omega Caliber 9920 with a magnificent Arabesque Côtes de Genève decoration. With precise adjustment made by the watchmaker, this Speedmaster Super Racing can operate between 0 and +2 seconds per day, and when we talk about a mechanical watch, that’s not nothing, it’s relatively reliable and precise.
With the new Spirate system, Omega has developed a method of ultra-fine adjustment of the rate of a mechanical watch movement. The Spirate System combines a new architecture with a silicon spring and a new adjustment system acting directly on a flexible blade. This system of unparalleled finesse allows adjustment of up to 0.1 second/day. The Caliber 9920, based directly on the architecture of the Caliber 99xx family, offers a power reserve of 60 hours to the watch.
