The Geneva-based manufacturer’s sports watch collection debuts in a new color combination. The combination of gold and green was offered in a combination with three complications.
Among the so-called Of the Big Three of Swiss watchmaking, Fake Vacheron Constantin sports offering has always enjoyed the least spectacular fame. Overseas debuted in 1996 as the successor to the iconic 222 model from 1977 and was the manufacturer’s response to the trend for sporty, luxury watches emerging in the 7th decade of the last century. However, despite its originality and several attractive characteristics, the Overseas (or 222) has never gained popularity equal to the Nautilus from Patek Philippe or the Royal Oak from Audemars Piguet.
Gold
To be completely honest, I’m not a big fan of gold watches, especially not sports ones. Gold is not only heavy and soft, and therefore susceptible to damage, but above all, flashily ostentatious. A gold watch on the wrist – especially when paired with a gold bracelet – is eye-catching, contradicting my philosophy of discreet luxury, not to mention the purely functional side of the watch.
Four new/old models join the collection: a smaller diamond automaton for women, a classic three-hand watch, a chronograph and a Dual Time variant. Each of them was already present in the offer, so the watches are an extension of the line with new versions. All of them are made of 18 ct rose gold. In the VC (Vacheron Constantin) edition, the gold has a pleasant, warm, but not excessively red shade – closer to yellow gold than to shades of red used by other brands.
Typically formed cases are finished with brushing and polishing, e.g. on the bezel. On the integrated lugs, Vacheron mounted a gold bracelet composed of links shaped like half of a Maltese cross. The links are highly three-dimensional, carved and decorated with satin finish on top. Contrasting polishes were applied to the inner edges, which creates an interesting visual effect. What is more important, however, is that the Overseas bracelet is comfortable, ergonomic and nicely tapered towards the integrated clasp.
