Introduction
In the year of the 37th edition of the America’s Cup, the Panerai 2024 novelties focus on the partnership with Prada Luna Rossa, which has lasted since 2019. If, in recent years, the brand has created some models celebrating the collaboration with the team directed by Max Sirena that affected the Luminor collection, 2024 consecrates this relationship through the celebration of the Submersible.
This collection, in spirit and technological approach, fits perfectly with a sport in which high technology and advanced materials are predominant. Fake Panerai Submersible is therefore the collection under the magnifying glass, waiting to discover further news when the show opens.
Panerai Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition PAM 1405
Let’s start with the most ambitious model of the new collection, whose complication and name betray the caliber of the product and the experience that awaits the lucky owners. It is not the first variation of the Tourbillon inside the case of a Submersible, but it brings several innovations compared to, for example, a Submersible EcoPangaea Tourbillon GMT PAM 1108.
It inherits the basic architecture from this model, although materials, dimensions and movement are different. The Submersible Tourbillon GMT Luna Rossa Experience Edition PAM 1405 measures 45 mm in case diameter, making it the first Submersible Tourbillon of this size.
The case is now in Carbotech™, while the unidirectional rotating bezel is in DLC treated titanium, with lacquered numbers and indexes. In contrast there is the GMT sphere with a red tip that replicates the Luna Rossa sail and the power reserve indicator on the back. There are 4 days of battery life on a full charge. The ring on the case back is also made of titanium, with a similar surface treatment.
The new Panerai caliber 2015/T
In both front and rear views, the fully skeletonized Panerai caliber 2015/T allows you to glimpse the mechanics, with the classic Panerai tourbillon cage making a complete rotation in thirty seconds.
Being a Submersible, the case is waterproof up to 300 meters and is coupled with the classic Luna Rossa personalized bi-material strap. Alternatively, a second entirely black strap is included in the watch’s presentation box for those wishing to replace the original one.
At first glance, its appearance is reminiscent, complication aside, of the Submersible S BRABUS Black Ops Edition and, as the name indicates, it is an Experience Edition model. It will be made in 20 copies; whoever purchases one will have access to the “backstage” of the America’s Cup finals, which will be held in Barcelona.
Panerai Submersible GMT Luna Rossa Titanio PAM 1507
In descending order of complication, the new Submersible GMT Luna Rossa Titanio PAM 1507 is among the Panerai 2024 novelties that will most likely enjoy the widest diffusion. We therefore enter the segment of watches intended for a wider audience, in which the GMT complication falls within the modern range of the Submersible in Luna Rossa livery and with a series of interesting innovations.
Grade 5 titanium and Super-LumiNova® X-1 and X-2 case
The choice of this titanium alloy is perfectly in line with the philosophy of the Submersible collection, which has always been the laboratory of new materials, just remember the splendid BMG-Tech model still in the catalogue.
This edition comes with a smaller case, 42 mm in diameter, and a matte ceramic bezel with small “knights” at three, six and nine o’clock with a luminous point at twelve o’clock. Inside the flange fixed on the 24 hours (the watch allows you to indicate two time zones simultaneously) and the red end that recalls Luna Rossa’s jib and mainsail.
We have already appreciated the color combination, with the blue sunray finish dial on the 40 mm Luminor GMT Luna Rossa but there is more: the watch adopts a new type of luminescent material, namely Super-LumiNova® -1 and X-2. The first is blue in color and fills the minute hand and the luminous dots on the bezel. Glass hour markers on the dial and hour hand are green on an X-2 lacquered base.
Inside the case of the Submersible GMT Luna Rossa Titanio PAM 1507 is the automatic P.900/GMT caliber with three days of autonomy guaranteed by a single barrel. The dual-material (rubber and fabric) strap with the official Luna Rossa logo completes the waterproof case up to 500 meters.
Panerai Submersible QuarantaQuattro Luna Rossa Ti-Ceramitech™
The latest model among Panerai’s 2024 novelties, dedicated to the partnership with Luna Rossa, is a Submersible in the 44 mm size made of a new material called Ti-Ceramitech™. Panerai has created two references, the PAM 1466 and PAM 1543, which debut a material that required seven years of development, and consists of a titanium ceramization process using plasma oxidation.
The result is, technically, a ceramic layer with a surface hardness two to four times that of the similar surface subjected to the anodization process. This results in a chemically inert surface, resistant to high thermal cycles.
